Andy Burnham, Labour's Shadow Health Secretary, was in Bristol today to meet with the Save Cossham Hospital residents group about their ongoing battle to secure their promised Minor Injuries Unit. Jo McCarron, Labour's Parliamentary Candidate for Kingswood, invited Andy Burnham and representatives from the South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group to ensure the residents' voices are being heard by those with power to make decisions.

When plans were put forward last year for a one-way system on Crews Hole Road, Labour councillors on the St George Neighbourhood Partnership listened to concerns raised by local residents and road users at meetings, in letters and online. As a result, they decided to scrap the planned one-way system on Crews Hole Road.

But now there are new proposals, considered by the Mayor of Bristol and his Cabinet at the Cabinet meeting on 4th March, which could also result in a new one-way system on Crews Hole Road.

Jo McCarron is supporting local residents who are putting in a bid to rebuild a skate park in Warmley. The land, which in recent years has fallen into disrepair, has become neglected and local youths say they now have nowhere to go. A meeting was called on the15th January where Jo joined local parents, young people and councillors from all parties to discuss possible future use of the land.
